I'm going to make it very clear to all of you.

America is fucked.  End of story, we are screwed.  Nothing and nobody can help us.

WE ARE GOING INTO AN ECONOMIC DEPRESSION, PEOPLE!

Have a lil more faith in your country buddy.

It's not that I don't have faith in my country, it's that I don't have faith in who's controlling our country.

True patriotism isn't doing what you're told.  True patriotism is questioning things that we believe to be wrong or that should be changed.

How do you think our country was formed in the first place?  Our forefathers questioned how the government controlled it and tried to change things to make it better.  They questioned it all.

So before you call me an unpatriotic American, think again because I love my country, but the people that rule it should know what in the fuck they're doing! :D

Reason why we can never trust the government is because the government consists of people, human beings, like us...

And human beings lie, cheat, and steal...along with many other things.

Just because they control the country doesn't mean they can't fuck up. ???

Enough of my rant...tired of typing 8)

Saying and finalizing us being screwed, and nothing and nobody can help us implies the lack of faith in our country. I'm not saying you're not patriotic, just pessimistic about the future of the country. You weren't questioning anything, you just stated things about being screwed.

Thanks to orgAn for clarifying that USA is fucked up at the moment:D
That's a better way of looking at it.

You should too.

My bad.  :D

I'd like to apologize to the community here. I have gone and blasted my mouth off before really thinking about what I really wanted to communicate.

Someone on the forums posted topics related to the current financial storm in America. I chimed in with a spiritual perspective which quickly turned into a rant. I am very sorry if I caused your eyes to roll in wonder at yet another guy on a soapbox. I have lots of flaws, many are pointed out to me by the Bible I read. So, what happened?

When I read the original posts I became very passionate and responded to the thread without really putting any thought into what I was writing.

What I really wanted to say was that there are significant problems in America, but I believe the financial problems are the tip of the iceberg. The real problems are much deeper, in the soul of America, and God is not blind to any of it. To the Wall Street topic, I firmly believe that greed is the root cause of the current problem. Here's what the Bible has to say about greed 'At the Top'

James 5
Warning to Rich Oppressors
1 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. 2Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence.

As to my statements regarding spiritual “lethargyâ€

Its idiots like that lady that hurt alot of countries.  Religion has killed more people and started more wars in history than any other single cause.  Just look at what the morons from the sandbox are doing using religion as their excuse.  And no, the masses aren't like that.  This poor lady has been brainwashed into actually believing the crap that just fell out of her mouth.  Only someone that is dedicated to their religon (and only if its the same as hers, otherwise they are wrong) can save the economy, foreign policy, you name it.  Yea, right....

(the next bit is not aimed at you at all Rayzer, just a general statement)

People from other countries tend to bash the US.  If its aimed towards the government, then they have a valid reason.  However, most of their bandwagon bashing is aimed squarely at the American people.  These dumbasses need to think back and make damn sure that they agree with everything THEIR government does before they go and talk shit about the American public.  You'd be pretty hard pressed to find an American that agree's with what our government is doing 100%, no exception.  So yea, go ahead and rip on our government, hell I'll join ya, but save the bullshit about the public.  Especially if you've never been to the US and interacted with the American people.  But, I realize that most of these people are just regurgitating someone bullshit rhetoric anyway, and probably have trouble thinking for themselves.

Amen. There's a few fairly well known members of this site who're guilty of exactly that.

The woman in that video is ignorant. I don't think it's her fault, but I do see a problem. She's been convinced by someone else that she's right, and there's no other way about it. Some people are followers like that. The world needs followers, really, ever hear the phrase "too many chiefs, not enough braves"? When everyone tries to lead, nothing gets done. Unfortunately when she was in her teens she picked the wrong person to listen to, and has wound up so brainwashed that she actually makes herself look stupid, even though she probably isn't.

I think the majority of Americans don't know enough about other countries to be able to make fun them, I certainly don't.

It could be a mix of geographic and cultural reasons. We were not a part of the relationships older civilizations went through.
If the country was surrounded by several countries the policies of those countries would be closely followed. We have felt the impact of oil prices so we sought (or were force feed) more information. It seems so far away until the effect can be felt.
(this is not an excuse)

The public should take more stock in international affairs, our government and country has invested a lot in the rest of the world (which is not always beneficial to that area).

.... that lady has very interesting facial expressions and body language... watch 0:33 when she says "that's the way i look at things" she shakes her head , you can see her do the same shake when she says no at 0:40 .... very defensive, wide eyed, flared, afraid

I noticed the expressions too. You could tell she was fighting for a way to defend her position. She kept wanting to just say "Whatever, I'm right and you're not." You can see it in her face.

Do you guys remember the time they played the WAZZZZZZUP Budweiser commercials?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tauYnVE6ykU

Good times lol, this is the 2008 version of the commercial that I thought was pretty funny, with a great ending.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq8Uc5BFogE

I decided to post it here instead of funny stuff because it seems relevent to the thread.
