Which would be better fit for me?

Hi guys so this is my first post and I wanted to know which would be better. Ok for starters I live in California and Im fairly short, 5'5. I need something that can go on the high way but also something that i can use daily so I can go to work and school with. so which one should I get a bike or a scooter?

Well I'm just 5'6 weigh 165. I had no problems back when I had my Ninja 250r. For a first ever bike I say you cant go wrong. And leaving in CA you can go take them back roads and have a blast on a 250. Plus the 70mpg is freaking sweet lol Hell I wish I never had to sell my 250, I would still ride it around over my R6 some days. It may not have the power but its light and still pretty fast. I went on the high away alot with it and it does just fine! You can still down shift and blow pasted all the cars when you have too. top speed for me was like 115 I believe and that was dead red line.

CommanderFluffy said it all, and as I understand the Ninja 250 has been around forever in the States so you would have no problem finding one in your price range. As for the scoot vs bike dilemma, since you're going to be riding on the highway I'd go for the bike + they're more fun!
