I never said it was amazing, I said it was alright...  plus I caught it right off the dock, my dad dosnt have a boat license and its my uncles cottage, I think I may have hooked a muskie but unsurprisingly it tore my monofiliment line in about half a second... My cousin actually caught a small muskie off that dock a few years ago, and in the same lake (balsam lake) my uncle caught a big 30 pound muskie somewhere on that lake, I couldnt find a picture of it but I found this picture with a fiberglass replica of it in the background as well as the rod it was caught with... there is a company here that you can send photos and measurements to and they will make a fiberglass fish as close to the actual size and colour as they can get it, apparently they will include the colouring and even any scarring that it may have but it costs a shit ton to have it done...

anyway here is the random photo of the model I found on my uncles facebook and you can kind of see the actual photo right beside the guys head


(by the way one of the people in that photo is an olympian try to guess which one )



and a 2 pound small mouth trumps a 4 pound large mouth and even some small salmon any day of the week... those buggers fight hard (I also caught a few other fish but none worth mentioning)

Raised a musky the size of a large dog not too long ago. Scared that absolute shit out of me...it slowly came up from the bottom like a ghost emerging from the shadows.

There's many places to get a replica made, and they're not much more than a skin mount. They look great, and there's no reason to keep the fish. Measure it, take a picture, and let it go.

I agree, ocasionally I will take a nice Bass or a trout to eat but usually its just catch and release for me, if more people were responsible my Dad wouldnt need a license just to cast off the dock (although no one really bothers you if you are just doing that)
