Here's the freshly painted parts on the bike.

I am not digging the all black bike at all. Must begin work on the gas tank ASAP! The gas tank will be silver, not black.

Wet sanding with 1500 grit. Hopefully I'll get to clear coat them on Monday. Then the next day, I should be able to cut and buff and finally move on to the gas tank.  ;D

Surprising what some elbow grease can do to make old parts look nice again :)
Bikes:  Yamaha Virago XV750J, BSA Lightning, Harley Electraglide, Honda Ascot Cafe, Suzuki GS550L, Yamaha RD350 (soon cafe'd)

Check out my blog with updates to all the bikes I am/will be working on!  http://www.psycleshack.wordpress.com

You must mean the side covers. Yeah, they were crap when I got them Scratches everywhere and terrible decals. The left cover even had a crack in the corner. But it's nothing JB weld and bondo can't fix. Sanded it with 500 grit then primered them. Looks like new!

lookin good man, this build thread is inspiring, i like those rear tail lights, if i ever do the seat like that im rocking those so i can get rid of the bulky fender and light set up :P i gotta repaint my tank and side covers 2, not sure what colour, im really diggin a black with silver accents.

I did the ton 2 times on the cb750, its hardly pushes the bike at all, considering its top speed is supposed to be 126mph

i really need to get some mirrors like that, i can actually gauge my speed by my mirrors.
at 100km/h my right mirror folds in and if i look at it, i can see my clutch hand XD, and at 125km/h my left mirror folds in, and i cannot tighten them at all!

front tire looks a wee bit flat there.

Thanks! Saw your "Ninja 250" video LOL!

My bike has never been over 100 MPH since it's top speed is like 105 MPH. It stopped pulling at around 95 MPH. So the bike has lost about 30 lbs so far and has a lower profile. Pretty confident it can make it over 100 MPH now  :)

Yup, front tire is flat. I don't really care. The bike's been sitting in the same spot for 5 months now. I bet there's a flat spot there now. Gonna get new tires anyways. These tires suck ass!

Bar end mirrors are cheap. Maybe $15 for a set on eBay.

Glad you find this build inspiring!

There's gonna be some lynchings going on... Ray... please don't let stuff get out of hand like last time we assembled an angry mob. Coz that was really expensive...

Yeah, I admit it's fun. But next time maybe we can have fun without blowtorches and molotovs...
