Which cruiser?

Postby Baggi3 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 6:55 pm

Hey guys,
Having always owned sports bikes I don't know much about different cruisers, recently my taste in bikes has changed and I am looking at swapping my zx6r for a nice cruiser. Can anyone suggest a cheap cruiser that fits my taste? I love Harley V-rods and nightrods but obviously these are very pricey.
Love the look of the kawasaki vn900 customs aswell.

Seen some nice looking 'boober' style bikes aswell. Looking for something around the £1500 mark. 2k tops

As far as newer bikes, I have heard very good things about the larger Honda Shadows.
Bikes:  Yamaha Virago XV750J, BSA Lightning, Harley Electraglide, Honda Ascot Cafe, Suzuki GS550L, Yamaha RD350 (soon cafe'd)

Check out my blog with updates to all the bikes I am/will be working on!  http://www.psycleshack.wordpress.com

The virago series are meant to be great, not sure about prices though.

viagro is too close to viagra and that sucks because it's a nice bike with a dumb name in my opinion. i would try out a honda shadow.

Which, for some reason, represents the Virago 125cc's comfort, performance and looks...

Yes a few, little honda rebel 125 was a laugh so I tried some bigger cruisers, biggest was a virago 535 though so it wasn't very big and had hardly any power.

I ended up buying an srad gsxr 600 in febuary anyway, saving up for a "hardley ableson" sportster 883 iron now.

Btw I HATE chrome covered cruisers.

owned a shadow 1100. had to drill out a cap on the carb and fix the air mix for being to lean from the factory. after that i had many years and miles of good rideing till it got a small coolant leak that i was to lazy to fix. sold it and the new owner fixed the leak for $25...over all a good bike tho.

I have a Yamaha V-Star 650, and it is a great bike. A bit underpowered, but plenty of power for anything under 90MPH.

My mum has a Suzuki Boulevard 50i, which is 808cc, and fuel injected, and it is an AWESOME bike. Better riding position and comfort than the v-star IMO, and I would trade my v-star for one in a heartbeat. The v-star was quite a bit cheaper though.
