I actually quite like the looks of big scooters but don't don't they kind of defeat the point of scooters (light, nimble etc). I guess it's like a motorcycle/scooter hybrid. How DOES it handle?
What am I on? Everything but rollerskates...

one of my friends has a silverwing600, i borrowed it for a day and that thing is super comfy its ideal of long highway journies
although i don't like the looks of it and it is kinda heavy for really twisty roads and heavy traffic
i still prefer my nexus and out of all maxis the only one i would like more than my nexus is tmax

p.s. it is GILERA NEXUS not aprilia

I have the 2009 Yamaha Tmax.  Love it!

Personally I don't like the Silverwing much at 80mph.
Kinda wish it had 17" wheels rather than 14" front & 13" rear.

Although on the bright side the price of scooter tyres is easily half the price of your average 17". Also they last just as many miles.

I have a burgman 400, but want to go back to "proper" bike

I believe the yamaha t max would be the best if you still want something sporty

Good to hear it.
I just updated the first post quite a bit. Since it was written before I owned a Silverwing. Now I've owned and sold one I say a little bit more.

What do you think of a majesty400?Is there any bike in particular that is ideal for a new rider?

The Majesty is a tame ride. I don't see why a new rider wouldn't be able to handle it.
Just keep in mind it's a bit hefty at 211kg.
