What's so great about Black Ops?

Honestly, Until the week it was to be released I hadn't heard one word about it and thought of it as just another Call of Duty game.
Then suddenly people won't shut up about it.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Call of Duty, but why this one? Why didn't they line up at midnight for Modern Warfare 2, or World at War?
What's going on here?

Haha, I knew somebody would bring up the zombies.
I think that's cool and all, but I still don't see how people seemed to have just exploded with interest out of what seems like nowhere.

The game is great, really balanced wich makes it alot of fun. I like this one ALOT more then MW2 and World at war. Only thing i can complain about is the sniping, but they said in the forums that they were going to patch it.

It sounds like a decent game, but I'll likely get it when it's not so popular.
I hate getting things that everybody else has because it makes me feel like I have no originality.

Your new machine sounds sweet. Have you checked any log files for the error? Are all your directx and gfx drivers upto date?

I did, its complaining about low memory and that my HD is full.
memorry I can understand, but HD full?
I still have 60 GB free from my 300GB VelociRaptor

Trust me on this one, I know what I'm talking about.
Its just to heavy for my PC even in low settings.

PC crashed when there was a big explosion.

That's cool but ive not seen an error message about hdd being low on space. I would take off into space and nuke it from orbit, only way to be sure.
