The best way to fix America right now is to get rid of Obamanation and everyone that is associated with him. We also need to kick out all the illegals or kill them, so they have no way of going back. Mexicos' number 2 cash crop is money sent back from the US. Hmm, this money might help fix the economy, Also kicking them out would also create more jobs for AMERICANS which in turn, would also boost the economy. And if you don't think Guns are good, Take a look at the UK, perfect example, Bad guys still have guns, because they don't care, they already intend to break the law, why not have some protection. Good guys don't have guns because they are illegal.

Some good ideas, like taxing weed.  Some bad ideas, like killing/kicking out illegals.  I don't like the whole illegal immigration problem as much as the next person, but I say give them the opportunity to come into the country legally, just make it clear that they won't have access to any state or federal social programs until they pay at least 2 years worth of taxes.  The jobs that most illegals take are jobs that most AMERICANS, as you put it, won't work.  Most people won't go around sharecropping, or sit outside a Lowes store until a contractor shows up looking for cheap labor.  They'll work a 10 hour day of hard labor for 6 or 7 dollars an hour.  Will you?  I know I won't, but my time is obviously worth more than that according to my earnings.  Oh, and while he probably won't do anything to improve on our problems, Obama certainly isn't the cause of issues, and he probably won't be the end of it either.

This.  It seems as though we've strayed quite far from the original model this country was built upon.  And without a complete clearing out and restructuring of our government, the way people look at federal and state governments, social programs, taxes, the whole nine yards, nothing will change.

Well, it's "working", in the meaning that its not in the state of total anarchy. But there are so many millions who barely can afford living, all because of how giant corporations and banks have used "the law.
Also why is USA the only country in "the western world" not to have free healthcare?
If USA could have cut back on their defense-budget and used it on healthcare, EVERYONE could get free healthcare and improve the livelihood of all people in the US, wether poor or rich.

There are multiple variations on modern liberalism as well. Some of the extremes are bad. The word has been slandered by fox news until a normal american has no idea what it means.
If asked "If you were unlucky and got injured driving to work, would you want to be able to afford treatment?" everyone would say yes.
Yet you ask "Is the government spending too much on (or any issue)" they would say yes.

People want to be helped when they get unlucky, but people want to spend nothing at all. That's obviously a contradiction.

The safety net for unlucky people is one of the basic principles of modern America and one of the things that makes it at least decent as a country. We're not a third world country and we can afford to help some people with shit luck. The entire point of having a government is that people can pay taxes to provide beneficial umbrella help like building roads and helping sick people or banding together if invaded.

The opposite of a "liberal" or "socialist" country where the government tries to help people is just anarchy. There's no point to having a government if you pay no taxes and it has no money to accomplish anything.
