I love a good sniper game because running-and-gunning doesn't do much for me.
If it's just running around the corner and both people pull the trigger, often it's just based on stuff like latency or dumb luck.
I prefer the very original ghost recon games. If there are many bushes and trees and rocks and a sniper could be peeking out from any of em, then it's all about position, hiding ability, ability to scan well and guess where someone's hiding, etc.
If someone started firing blindly into bushes, other snipers would right away know their location and kill them.
Stealth is so much better than spamming grenades and holding down the trigger on a machine gun.
Nothing is more satisfying than having a sniper hiding in a ditch in the corner thinking he's absolutely safe and me slowly crawling around him and behind him while he zooms in. The traditional finish is to start air-humping right behind him while he's zoomed in and then switch to a pistol and headshot him while your entire dead team laughs their arses off watching through your eyes.
A bit OT, but is Splinter Cell: Conviction multiplayer as fun as Chaos Theory? That's on my list of like the Top 3 games of all time.
