I was curious how many of you already play and which race you prefer.  I am a toss lover and I suck.  LOL  anyways anyone interested in playing 2v2 just drop a message here or something.  I do NOT have any beta keys unfortunately so please don't ask.

thats what makes blizzard so great. they tried to make starcraft ghost a decent fps but couldnt so they scraped it. most developers would have released a shitty game and got some money from it but blizzard has a reputation to live up and if a game doesnt live up to expectations they wont sell it. ive seen very little on sc2 (i dont wanna get hyped up) but thats one game i will be buying for sure.

I ran into a few mixed opinions after trying the game for the first time today. Overall, it's a damn fine experience, with a lot of much needed improvements over the original(which I still play from time to time).

Visually, they did an all around good job. I like that units change when you upgrade them, the animations are pretty nice, and overall the models are solid. I really dislike the color palette, though. It's way too "Warcraft" with the vibrant hues, and lacks the darker feel of the original Starcraft. Outside of my complaints about the colors, which are a personal gripe, it's a solid looking title.

Gameplay wise, they seem to be tweaking, and improving it as time goes. I was glad to see a patch filled with balancing changes. I will note that roaches are completely broken. Cool as they are, 120 of those buggers will massacre any base, even while taking heavy fire from siege tanks, or air units. They're just insane. Contrast to that, my favorite, the Hydralisk, seem to be absolute garbage. Their acid spit was removed, given instead, to the roaches, and their new spikes lack the punch, or miniature splash damage of their previous incarnation. I'm really saddened by their apparent nerf, but perhaps, due to the overpowered nature of the roaches, this is simply a contrast element.

Now, I only tried Zerg today, as they were my favorite before, so I plan on trying out the other two in the future, but it was all around great fun. The new units are nice, I love that some can now move while burrowed, and you gotta love the Zergling's new evolution. Nothing like a bunch of rolling bombs to send at your enemy, haha!

Overall, good impressions so far. It's a lot of fun, and manages to recreate that classic feel of the first Starcraft. I really wish the visuals had more of that oldschool sci-fi grit, and I look forward to some further balancing, but they did a good job on the game. Though, nothing excuses the $140 pricetag they're putting on the full package. Thankfully online isn't really affected by that, but I did enjoy the story of the first Starcraft. =/

I pre ordered it the other day, and the receipt comes with a beta key when you pre order it.

Unfortunately, that same night i got baked and in a high rage i emptied out my pockets and lit all the shit i had in them on fire, the receipt being one of those things.

The custom game content made by other people will easily be worth $60 alone.

Then I'd say it's worth at least $10 for actual SC2 multiplayer.
And maybe $10 for the single player campaign if it ends up being long and good (it probably will. Considering there are mechs transforming into jets and stuff FFS plus they bring back classics like Vulture, Goliath, Firebat, etc. in single player.)

So I'm definitely sold.

The cool thing about SC is that... you can play Tower Defense games or other flash games elsewhere, but you can't easily edit them or create your own and then play it with other people.
