Where in Canada are you?

Yeah not all bikes. Just bikes they consider high risk. Example, the Honda VFR Interceptor is not a high risk bike even if they have a 750cc version. But the Honda CBR 600RR IS a high risk bike. To register the VFR it would cost around 400. The CBR would be 1,400

Still insanely high though. My bike cost 25 bucks to register for the year (same as all bikes I believe).

Move to Calgary.  :P

Bring me a .05mm feeler guage and a valve adjusting tool and I'm down ;) missed half the season already and it's really getting to me.

Toronto has the highest motorcycle insurance rates in Canada. I paid $1200 for 3rd party on a 50cc scooter for my first year. A CBR 600RR is $12,500. I end up bringing this up any chance I get when I see someone complaining about thier insurance rates ;)

Move to BC. Their insurance is public sector. Nowhere near as cheap as the Alberta-Manitoba though, but a much more lovely place to live if I do say so myself.

And to think all this time I thought insurance was expensive here in Alberta... or at least it is compared to the States.

How much does it cost to insure an average car over there in Ontario?

Wolvaroo, you really can't find a set of feeler gauges at like canadian tire or something? and a valve adjusting tool is so specialized you can't use some other tools instead? granted i'm not familiar with this tool you need, but you can find stuff like that in some speciality tool stores.

my yearly insurance for my bike is 1080$ for 2010 kawi ninja250R

My yearly insurance for car insurance is 4400$ for a 1999 Ford Mercury Cougar, 2001 Ford Taurus and a 2006 Ford Mustang GT Convertible (<------this is the reason its so high)

Car insurance doesn't seem like it's too out of whack then. But the bikes... jeez!
I insured my ZZR-250 for 15 bucks a month when I had it.

Also nice choice on the car. Test drove a new Stang GT convertible and loved it. Almost walked out of the dealership with one.  :P

Lowest size I could find at Crappytire was .15mm. and THAT fit with pleanty of room so my valves are atleast 3x too open. The adjusting tool I need is like an inverse Robertson bit. I tried just gripping it with pliers but to no avail. If I had truck/van/trailer available I'd have taken it to a mechanic already.

I put it off for a long time because I had a new engine on order. But it's been 3 months and I havn't recieved anything yet =< Damn freight ships from China!

Shiznit: I work up in North York and see tonnes of Ninja 250s so we've probably passed eachother numerous time ;)

You can order valve feelers online you know along with any other proper tools that you will need to do a valve adjustment
Or you could walk into any motorcycle shop and they might have them in stock or if not they would be able to order them.

Eh it's fairly average for crime here I'd imagine? With a population around 1 million there is a fair bit of work for cops so.  :P
Only thing is the Calgary Police department is pretty high competitive to get into.

Meh I like competition. I wonder if it's possible to get transfered from one city police force to another. Would probably be easier than making an application. Whatever I'll see... as long as im out of this stupid place.
