Rim stripes & parts

Postby DoM3K » Fri Nov 26, 2010 12:40 am

First things first

What're everyone's opinions on rim stripes on a cruiser? I think depending on the thickness of the stripe it would look good. Or white rim walls like an older caddy might like nice on some cruisers.

Also where's the best plate to get OEM parts for an 83 honda shadow. I had a piece fly off while accelerating. It clearly was ripped off and the plastic looked in bad condition lol. Luckily all the bits under neath are still in pristine condition for the age.

Ebay, or give Meridian a shot.

As for the whole rim stripes thing, that's all you buddy.  When you start doing stuff to a bike, it's' about making it more yours than anything else.  If you like it, go for it.

www.ronayers.com is a good place.  I got a lot of 82 Virago and 07 Ninja parts there.  Though its more useful with parts numbers to search with.

As far as the stripe, as Jerim said it's all you on that one.
Bikes:  Yamaha Virago XV750J, BSA Lightning, Harley Electraglide, Honda Ascot Cafe, Suzuki GS550L, Yamaha RD350 (soon cafe'd)

Check out my blog with updates to all the bikes I am/will be working on!  http://www.psycleshack.wordpress.com

I was lucky and found the part on the road. Girlfriends dad was driving it and it was about 40 degrees outside. He floored it cause it was freezing. In retrospect I should of just rented a 20 dollar trailer from Uhaul. Oh well luckily everything/everyone's okay.

(He was doing 90 in a 35 like an idiot)
